The whole team was very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process, and solved the inevitable issues in a creative and thoughtful manner. I would highly recommend Andrew McHale to anyone in the Bay Area who desires a top notch, user-friendly builder.
This project was located in Cole Valley and incorporated a steep up hill lot. The project required a large retaining wall at the rear of the building as well as a new perimeter foundation for the existing house.
Due to the steep up hill lot behind the house, carefull attention was paid to the water proofing issues. Zypex was added to all the concrete along with Mira Drain and under ground perforated pipe connected to the catch basins. The concrete slab also required a grid system of perforated pipe installed underneath that was also connected to the catch basin. All underground services were upgraded and a new garage installed at the property. A full seismic upgrade as well as new structural steel and moment frames was also installed per the engineers specifications.
