This project was located in the Richmond district of San Francisco on a flat city lot. This foundation project was made more difficult because the underlying ground was sand. We retained a grouting company and had the sandy soil solidified before any of the digging took place.
In addition to a new perimeter foundation, the original house was lifted up on cribbing and a new third story was added to the property. Structural steel was also added and the original house under went a complete seismic upgrade.
